Return to Hockey Update - UPDATED Sep 24th
Submitted By Teresa Metcalfe on Thursday, September 10, 2020
Although we don't have an exact date for our season to begin, and the OHF/OMHA Return to Hockey framework is still evolving, here are some quick points (UPDATED REGULARLY) we know today:

  • We are currently in Stage 3a. If nothing changes, we will move to Stage 3b Sep 1stWe are currently in Stage 3b. Dates of remaining Stages will be determined as we progress.
  • Haldimand County Stage 3b Guidelines - click here - **see update in article posted Sep 22nd
  • We will not have any ice time in the month of September as we navigate back-to-school measures. We are planning on being on the ice October 1st. Watch for schedule updates.
  • Although we will try our best to post schedules as soon as possible, short notice schedule changes could happen frequently. Please check the website regularly and/or subscribe to automatic notifications of changes.

  • We can start collecting Registration Fees. Please see the Registration tab for further info.

  • There will be a half hour between each group on the ice.
  • There will be no REP or House/Local leagues this season – hence no tryouts.
  • Teams will be part of “bubbles" (5 teams per bubble) within local Public Health Units until at least stage 3d.
  • All teams will have 9 skaters and 1 goalie.
  • Games will be played with modified rules using a 3v3 or 4v4 model with no physical contact until at least Stage 3c. Modified 5v5 may be possible in Stages 3d and 3e.
  • There will be no player movement (no AP’s, 3.5’s, NRP’s or PTS)
  • Players will only be permitted to play on 1 team within the OHF.

Thank you all for being patient as we work through this together.
It is certainly going to be a different season!
As we learn more information we will pass it on.
