*ACTION REQUIRED - Rowan's Law - Must Read
Submitted By Teresa Metcalfe on Friday, October 4, 2019
The Rowan's Law Act is legislation (Ontario Regulation 161/19) from the Government of Ontario that all Registrants, Team Officials, and On-Ice Officials (parent as well if individual under 18) must review the OHF Concussion Code of Conduct and the appropriate Concussion Awareness Resources prior to the season starting.

What is Rowan’s Law?
Rowan Stringer was a 17-year old Ottawa varsity rugby player who died from sustaining multiple concussions resulting in a catastrophic swelling of the brain – Second Impact Syndrome.  On March 7, 2018, Ontario passed Rowan's Law (Concussion Safety), 2018 and related amendments to the Education Act. However, it is important to understand that this applies to all Sport Organizations, schools, programs and businesses in the province.  This is not jut a hockey ‘thing’.

What to do:
1. Review Rowan's Law concussion safety documents - see links below.
2. Print the Rowan's Law Acknowledgement Form (also available on the Forms tab).
3. Review the OHF Concussion Code of Conduct on page 2 and sign the Acknowledgement Form.
4. Hand in the Acknowledgement Form to our Minor Hockey Office prior to your first ice time.

The Ontario Hockey Federation Concussion Code of Conduct and the appropriate Concussion Awareness Resources must be reviewed before you can sign off on the acknowledgement form and register/participate in the OHF.
