Team Spirit Challenges for 2017/2018
The Team Spirit Challenges are back! There are 4 challenges set for this season. Each challenge has a due date but can be worked on at any time before that date. The winning team of each challenge will receive an hour of ice time, pizza and refreshments all donated by generous local sponsors. The concept behind the Spirit Team is to promote a positive and energized environment for the children of CDMHA. By encouraging team work and promoting team spirit, we help our children build strong relationships, give back to their community and work together to achieve a common goal of making the arena a fun place to be. The Spirit Committee wishes to instill that hockey is more than just a “Game”.

The 4 challenges this year are . . .

October - Develop this seasons Cayuga Minor Hockey Motto - Sponsored by Yager Electric

November – Build a decoration for the Cayuga Minor Hockey float for the Cayuga Christmas Parade on Friday Dec 1, 2017, and participate in the parade. – Sponsor Grand River Heating and Cooling

January – Giving Back to the Community. Do a good deed to help those in our community – Sponsor Jeff Potter Re/max Realty

February – Fun Team Picture – Take a non traditional team picture that shows their team spirit! – Sponsor Options DSL

For any questions, concerns or details regarding the challenges please email [email protected] Anyone that wishes to join the committee and help plan events for the children are welcome!

Teams should assign a parent volunteer to help co-ordinate the challenges and act as a liaison for the team. This job is not a difficult one and will help alleviate adding more responsibility on to the coaches.

The Spirit Team is also planning a Breakfast with Santa on Dec 2, 2017 from 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. in the McSorley Room of the arena. Santa is due to fly in at 9:00 a.m.  Everyone is welcome to attend to enjoy breakfast and let Santa know what is on their wish list! Mark your calendar!

Team spirit is for everyone! Help make a positive and memorable hockey season!
