Midget Reps: Quarter Finals Bound
January in the OMHA 'DD' hockey world can be one of the most exciting or disappointing months of the year.

Fortunately for the group of young men playing on the Midget Rep team, its been an exciting start to the month. A quick round win against Plattsville has the Stars heading into the third round of playoffs.

It didn't take long for the Midget Reps to conquer Plattsville; Three games of well fought hockey in the best of 5 series. The first game saw the men struggle a little with narrow 2-1 win over their opponent. "We didn't have our best game, but we got the job done," remarked coach Darren Drehmer.

The following Saturday, the team would travel to Plattsville and come out skating to a 4-1 win, in which the coaching staff were really happy with the effort and intensity. The Reps really out skated and out competed the opposition for this win.

After a Sunday of cancelled hockey due to poor weather, Tuesday night in Cayuga would see the Midgets close this series out. After coming out to 3-0 lead, Plattsville battled hard to make a game of it. The final score would read 3-2. "We're proud of our players," said Brennan Brown " Really proud! But we definitely have some areas of the ice we need to be better in. With a couple of good practices, we'll iron out the issues and be ready for the next round."

The Midget Reps by way of the ladder, have a bye into the third round of action. They will wait patiently for their opponent which will be one of three teams: Norwich, Langton, Embro.

FUN FACTS: The Midgets are unbeaten in the past 13 games...8-0-5 (December 8th was their last loss). And have outscored opponents 37-18 during this stretch. They have won the past 5 games (8-0-2 in last 10).
