Congratulations to the Atom Rep team for making it all the way to the Championship game in the Aaran Elderslie tournament this past weekend. The long drive did not hold anyone back. Our 2 games on Saturday showed us our team was ready to work hard as a team and compete with a 5-2 win against Teeswater and a 2-2 tie against Shallow Lake which put us in 2nd place as we headed back to the hotel for the night.
Sunday’s semi-final game was against the home team, Aaran Elderslie. Again, we had many great plays to come out on top with a 4-2 win. This put us in the Championship game against Dresden. This game had back’n forth action for every minute of the game, which left us in a 2-2 tie at the end of the regulation time. Still tied at the end of overtime, we headed into a shoot-out where Dresden ended up winning with one extra goal. That game may have been recorded as a loss, but they are winners in our eyes. Throughout the weekend, in every game, we saw some tremendous plays and acts of true hockey spirit and the camaraderie off the ice was 2nd to none!!
We were all very proud of our Cayuga Stars!!!
